Tom Oommen, Director General, Analysis and Outreach Branch and spokesperson of the Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) will be holding a virtual technical briefing on the CTA's next steps in the area of air passenger protection and how the CTA plans to strengthen the Air Passenger Protection Regulations (APPR) as a result of the Budget Implementation Act which introduced changes to the Canada Transportation Act to clarify, simplify and strengthen the Canadian air passenger protection regime.

The Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) has announced its determination of the Volume-Related Composite Price Index (VRCPI) for the Canadian National Railway Company (CN) at 1.8295 and the Canadian Pacific Railway Company (CP) at 1.7616 for the 2023–2024 crop year beginning August 1st. This is an increase in the VRCPI over the last crop year of 12.11% for CN and 5.43% for CP.

In a determination issued today, the Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) ruled that revenues of both the Canadian National Railway Company (CN) and the Canadian Pacific Railway Company (CP) were above their respective maximum grain revenue entitlements for the crop year 2021–2022.
