Today, Darren Fisher, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Seniors and Member of Parliament for Dartmouth—Cole Harbour, officially welcomed Canadian Coast Guard Ship (CCGS) Capt Jacques Cartier to the fleet, on behalf of the Honourable Joyce Murray, Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard.

The Canadian Coast Guard will be holding a grand opening event for their new Hardy Bay Base located in Port Hardy, British Columbia. In addition to the facility opening, there will also be a ceremony to formally welcome the CCGS Pachena Bay to the fleet.
