On July 12, 2023, the Honourable Helena Jaczek, Minister of Public Service and Procurement, on behalf of the Honourable Gudie Hutchings, Minister of Rural Economic Development, together with Paul Calandra, Member of Provincial Parliament for Markham–Stouffville, on behalf of the Honourable Kinga Surma, Ontario’s Minister of Infrastructure, announced $54 million in combined federal and provincial funding to bring high-speed Internet access to over 20,000 homes in 83 underserved communities across Ontario.
