We promote your health and wellness both in the workplace and in your personal life, and we make resources available to you and to your family members to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance.
Employee Assistance Program: our employees and their immediate family have free access to the Employee Assistance Program.
Informal Conflict Management Service Program: employees facing difficult situations in the workplace have free access to support and guidance to the Informal Conflict Management Service Program.
Flexible work hours: we provide various options for flexible hours (where operational requirements allow) depending on your needs.
Employee Recognition Program: we recognize the efforts and achievements of our employees through sector, departmental and government-wide awards, as well as activities marking service milestones.
Bilingualism: bilingualism is a fundamental value in Canada and within the federal public service. We have our own Centre of Expertise on official languages and our own language training, providing support, tools and action plans in order to create a work environment favourable to the use of both English and French.
Physical health: we encourage employees to organize on-site health and physical training activities. Some of the department's divisions have such facilities on site or nearby. We also offer a corporate rate to a fitness chain popular across the country.
Community involvement: we support the Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign (GCWCC) and we participate annually in Take Our Kids to Work Day.
Communities: you will have many opportunities to connect with colleagues who share your vision or interests by joining our many networks and communities: Next Generation Committee, Social Committee, Policy and Operations Committee, Joint Committee on Mental Health, Employment Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and more.
Diversity and inclusion
At the Agency, we strive at creating a workplace that is diverse, representative and inclusive for all, for our employees, but also in the work that we do.
To support the important work of diversity and inclusion, we have a Diversity and Inclusion Committee, supported by executive champions, that is committed to addressing all forms of discrimination, systemic racism, and other barriers to inclusion in our policies, practices, and services. Our vision is a diverse, equitable, and accessible workplace where all employees feel safe, respected, and included. We strive to achieve this through dialogue, collaboration, knowledge-building, transparency, promoting cultural competence and most importantly leading by example.
