How to Get a Police Certificate - Sri Lanka
If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.
Name of the document you need
Police Clearance Certificate
Police certificate and IRCC requirements
You must provide a police certificate when you apply for:
- permanent residence
- citizenship
- some temporary residence programs
Check your application package or instructions for details.
If you’re not a citizen of Sri Lanka
If you don’t have legal status in Sri Lanka, you don’t need to provide a Sri Lankan police certificate. If we ask you for a Sri Lankan police certificate, include a note with your application that says: “I cannot provide a police certificate for the time I spent in Sri Lanka because certificates are only available to people who have legal status.”
