How to Get a Police Certificate - Burma (Myanmar)
If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.

You must provide a police certificate when you apply for:
- permanent residence
- citizenship
- some temporary residence programs

How to apply
If you live in Burma (Myanmar)
Apply in person at your local township police station.
If you live outside of Burma (Myanmar)
You can’t get a certificate unless you’re a resident. If you don’t live in Burma (Myanmar) anymore, you don’t provide a police certificate from there.
If you’re asked for a police certificate from Burma (Myanmar), write: “I cannot provide a police certificate for the time I spent in Burma (Myanmar) because certificates are only available to people who currently live in Burma (Myanmar).”
