How to Get a Police Certificate – Macao SAR
If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.

You must provide a police certificate when you apply for permanent residence in Canada.
You will also be requested to provide a police certificate to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) if you declared a criminal record on your application for an electronic travel authorization, work permit or study permit.
How to apply
If you live in Macao SAR:
You need to apply in person at the Identification Services Bureau located at Avenida da Praia Grande, No. 804, Edificio "China Plaza", 1 andar, Macao. If you cannot apply in person, a close relative (with proof of kinship and documentary proof of why you cannot apply in person) or a representative with written authorization can apply on your behalf.
If you are a Resident Card Identity cardholder you must supply:
- Your Resident Identification Card (BIR)
- A full set of fingerprints taken by a recognized police authority
- A letter providing full personal details
- Applicable fees
If you are not a citizen of China:
You can apply to the Identification Services Bureau, Division of Criminal Record (see Contact information for complete address). You must provide:
- Proof of connection to Macao
- A Residence Permit, Identity Permit of Non-Resident Worker, proof of schooling or proof of application for residence in Macao
- A valid travel document or a valid document for entering Macao
- A letter providing full personal details
- A full set of fingerprints
- Applicable fees
