How to get a police certificate - Kazakhstan
If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.
Name of the document you need
Reference certificate on presence or absence of criminal records (Spravka o nalichii libo otsutstvii sudimosti).
Police certificate and IRCC requirements
You must provide a police certificate when you apply for:
- permanent residence
- citizenship
- some temporary residence programs

How to apply
If you live in Kazakhstan
Apply online through the Electronic Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan website (available in Russian only).
You can also apply in person at your local Public Service Centre. If you can’t apply online or in person yourself, you can give a representative power of attorney to apply on your behalf.
If you live outside of Kazakhstan
You can apply at your nearest embassy or consulate of Kazakhstan
Special considerations
The certificate must include all names you have used while in Kazakhstan.
Embassies accepts only original police certificates issued on paper. Print-outs of online search results and virtual certificates are not acceptable.
