How to get a police certificate - Jordan
If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.
Do I need to provide a police certificate when applying for permanent residence?
Yes.
Name of document(s) to get: Jordan has two different types of police certificates, the Good Conduct certificate and the Non-conviction certificate. Both certificates are required.
How to get a Police Certificate:
If you are a citizen of Jordan:
If you live in Jordan:
The Good Conduct certificate can be obtained at the General Intelligence Department. There are offices located in cities across Jordan.
The Non-conviction certificate can be obtained at the Courts of First Instance. There are offices located in cities across Jordan.
If you live outside of Jordan:
You can apply for the Good Conduct certificate and the Non-conviction certificate through any Jordanian embassy abroad. See Information and documents you need for a list of required documents.

- A police certificate form for travel abroad,
- two passport photographs (6cm x 4cm),
- a copy of your passport, and
- fee stamps
To get a Non-conviction certificate, you will need to provide:
- A non-conviction form,
- a valid identification document or passport,
- application fees, and
- fee stamps
