How to get a police certificate - Czech Republic
If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.
Name of the document you need
Extract from the Criminal Register (Výpis z evidence rejstříku trestů)
Police certificate and IRCC requirements
You must provide a police certificate when you apply for permanent residence in Canada.
You will also be requested to provide a police certificate to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) if you declared a criminal record on your application for an electronic travel authorization, work permit or study permit.
How to apply
If you live in Czech Republic:
You should apply at any local or municipal authority office, Czech point or directly at the Criminal Register office in Prague.
If you have a recognized electronic signature, you can also apply directly online to the electronic mailroom of the Criminal Register (this service is only offered in the Czech).
If you live outside of Czech Republic:
You should apply at your nearest Czech embassy or consulate.
Special considerations
- An official application form is available at any local or municipal office
- Original and valid personal identity document with a photograph (such as a national ID card, a passport or a foreigner’s residence permit) will be needed to process your request.
- If a representative is applying on your behalf, he/she must have notarized power of attorney (including a sworn translation in Czech if not already in that language)
- You must have your certificate translated into English or French.
