- Between 2017 and October 2022, the number of French-speaking permanent residents admitted outside Quebec has consistently increased with the exception of 2020 (see Figure 1).
- From 2017 to 2021, the number of admissions increased by 68% from 4,100 to nearly 7,000, respectively.
- Furthermore, the number of French-speaking permanent residents almost doubled between 2021 and 2022, from 6,949 to 13,587.
- From January to October 2022, there were over 13,500 French-speaking PRs admitted outside QC.
- As of October 2022, French-speaking permanent residents admissions has increased nearing the 4.4% target to be achieved by 2023.
- From 2017 to 2021, the percentage of French-speaking relative to all permanent residents outside Québec increased from 1.8% to 2.0%, respectively.
- As of October 2022, the percentage has significantly increased. From January to October 2022, the percentage of French-speaking relative to all permanent residents outside Québec was 4.1%.
