Notice: Consultation on Proposed Changes to the Medical Devices Directorate’s Draft Guidance Document - List of Recognized Standards for Medical Devices

Health Canada is pleased to announce proposed changes to the Medical Devices Directorate's (MDD) Draft Guidance Document: List of Recognized Standards for Medical Devices.

The proposed changes consist of:

1. 14 new standards to be added;
2. 29 new editions of currently recognized standards to replace previous editions;
3. 3 standards to be removed.

Health Canada would like you to participate by providing feedback with respect to the proposed changes to MDD's Draft Guidance Document: List of Recognized Standards for Medical Devices.

This consultation entitled "Consultation on proposed changes to the Medical Devices Directorate's Draft Guidance Document - List of Recognized Standards for Medical Devices" is open for comment starting January 15, 2021. Interested parties are encouraged to provide comments and suggestions by March 16, 2021.

Once the consultation is completed, Health Canada will make the results of this consultation available on the standards web page.
