Consultation on cyanobacterial toxins in drinking water

About the consultation

The Federal-Provincial-Territorial Committee on Drinking Water is updating the drinking water guideline for cyanobacterial toxins. As part of this review, a consultation process is taking place.

This consultation is being done to get feedback on:

• the proposed guideline and the approach used to develop it
• the potential costs of putting it in place
• the availability of additional exposure data (the levels of measured chemicals or other agents  in drinking water)

The consultation comment process

Guideline technical documents are developed  in collaboration with our provincial and territorial partners, through the Federal-Provincial-Territorial Committee on Drinking Water. 

Provinces and territories are responsible for drinking water quality in their areas.

Your comments will be shared with the appropriate committee member, along with your name and affiliation. If you do not want this information shared, please indicate this when you submit your comments.

Consultation results

After the consultation, the guideline technical document will be revised and posted online. A summary of the comments received and how they have been addressed will be available upon request.
