New crop year reminders for Eastern producers and industry

June 30, 2016 – Winnipeg, Manitoba – Canadian Grain Commission

The Canadian Grain Commission reminds the grain industry and producers about a grain grading change that comes into effect on July 1, 2016 in eastern Canada. Poor colour has been added to the definition for degree of soundness for Oats, No. 4 Canada Eastern.

The Official Grain Grading Guide as of July 1, 2016, will be posted shortly before the start of the new crop year.

Quick facts

  • A new moisture table for Great Northern White Beans will take effect, July 1, 2016, as well as a new moisture estimation calculator for Yellow Beans.
