Minister Hussen to attend presidential inauguration in Nigeria

Today, the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced that the Honourable Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion, will visit Nigeria from May 27 to 29, 2023.
In Abuja, Minister Hussen will attend the inauguration of president-elect Bola Tinubu, following the federal elections of February 25, 2023.
Canada and Nigeria share strong bilateral ties, and Canada looks forward to continue collaborating with Nigeria on shared priorities, including trade opportunities and regional security, through the leadership of the new president.
While in Nigeria, Minister Hussen will meet with representatives of civil society organizations, youth and international partners regarding Nigeria’s efforts in promoting inclusion and respect for diversity.
