Today, the Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of Small Business, Export Promotion and International Trade, spoke with Celeste Drake, Director of Made in America, in the White House’s Office of Management and Budget.

Building on their conversation in June 2021, Minister Ng and Director Drake spoke about the critical role infrastructure can play in ensuring growth and job creation in both the United States and Canada during the post-pandemic economic recovery.

Minister Ng highlighted that working together on all fronts further strengthens both countries’ shared priorities and prosperity, including strengthening supply-chain resilience, creating jobs, taking action to fight climate change and forced labour, and better supporting businesses and workers on both sides of the border.

Minister Ng stressed Canada’s standing as a secure, reliable, and market-based partner for the United States. She also highlighted the history of the countries’ strong bilateral ties across sectors, including in building and construction materials, whose industries and workforces are completely integrated.
