Marcus Powlowski, Member of Parliament for Thunder Bay—Rainy River, today announced a FedNor investment of $379,500 in support of youth internship opportunities in Northwestern Ontario. As part of the Youth Effect Program, NOIC works directly with local SMEs to create strategic matches with youth based on interests and skills. Participating youth and organizations must be physically located in Northwestern Ontario.

Through the 24 placements, this investment will help develop specialized skills and knowledge for youth in the region. Additional anticipated benefits include the maintenance of critical strategic alliances in Northwestern Ontario, and the development of regional businesses, products, processes, services, and/or technologies.
