Portobello Creek National Wildlife Area: management plan

Portobello Creek National Wildlife Area (NWA) is in New Brunswick. The 2,154-hectare NWA was established in 1995 to protect regionally unique wetlands and forested floodplain habitat. The NWA is part of a large alluvial floodplain located next to the St. John River east of Fredericton, New Brunswick.

This management plan provides detailed information about Portobello Creek NWA, including:

• its ecological resources
• the challenges and threats it faces
• habitat and wildlife management
• site access and permitted activities

All NWAs are protected and managed under the Canada Wildlife Act. This management plan pairs with protection provided for existing Aboriginal or treaty rights.
