Voluntary National Review

Voluntary National Reviews help countries to collaborate and report on the actions taken and progress made on implementing the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals at home and abroad.

On July 19, 2023, Canada presented its second Voluntary National Review at the United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development. The review highlights Canada's progress, lessons learned and challenges in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at home and abroad since Canada's first Voluntary National Review in 2018.

Canada's 2023 review reports on all Sustainable Development Goals, with a focus on efforts to advance five priorities: No Poverty (Goal 1), Quality Education (Goal 4), Gender Equality (Goal 5), Climate Action (Goal 13), and Partnerships for the Goals (Goal 17).

On July 17, 2018, Canada presented its first Voluntary National Review at the United Nations High-Level Political Forum in New York, which highlights how Canada is taking stock of its progress and charting a path forward.
