Backgrounder on 10-day passport pick-up service at Service Canada Centres
Backgrounder
Beginning in August 2022, Service Canada started to roll out 10-day passport pick-up service at 13 Service Canada Centres across the country. Canadians can apply for a passport at these locations and receive it after 10 business days. The passport can either be mailed or be picked up in person.
Since starting to offer the 10-day passport pick-up service in 13 Service Canada Centres, Service Canada has processed over 66,000 passport applications in these locations as of March 8, 2023. This service also helped reduce the volume of applicants at specialized passport offices.
Service Canada is exploring the feasibility of adding this service to other locations across the country.
