Backgrounder:  Supports for Student Learning Program

The Supports for Student Learning Program funds youth-serving organizations at the national, regional and local levels to provide Canadian learners with the supports needed to graduate high school, transition to and succeed in post-secondary education. The Program emphasizes support for at-risk learners—vulnerable children and youth who may drop out of high school or face barriers in accessing and succeeding in post-secondary education. The objective of the Program is to provide supports to learners, to improve access to post-secondary education, training and lifelong learning in order to gain the skills and work experience they need to participate in a changing labour market.
