Government of Canada supports seven Eastern Ontario businesses to scale up and grow

Today, Mark Gerretsen, Member of Parliament for Kingston and the Islands, on behalf of the Honourable Ruby Sahota, Minister of Democratic Institutions and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), announced a combined investment of nearly $5.9 million to support seven businesses across Eastern Ontario to support their growth and competitiveness.

Custom Plastics International Ltd. The company will increase its manufacturing agility for precision-engineered components at its Cobourg facility through the adoption of automated equipment. $819,452
Kingston Frameworks The company will adopt new equipment to gain manufacturing and logistical capabilities and achieve operational efficiencies as it expands into new markets. $125,000
Lighthouse Cabinetry The Lindsay company will adopt automation equipment to enhance its cabinetry manufacturing capabilities. $350,000
OPTT Inc. The Kingston company will accelerate the commercialization of its online mental health technology solutions. $1,000,000
SnapCab Canada The Kingston business will scale its manufacturing capabilities for modular interior spaces to enhance efficiency and productivity. $900,000
Spectra Plasmonics Inc. The Kingston company will adopt automation technologies to achieve efficiencies as it scales its nanofabrication of its diagnostic chip to help make point of care testing more accessible and affordable. $191,984
