About the CFMLC
The Canadian Forces Military Law Centre is the military legal education and training delivery organization for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). The Mission of the CFMLC is to lead the design, development, and delivery of legal research, doctrine, education, and training for the CAF.
Courses Offered
Intermediate Law of Armed Conflict (ILOAC)
The Intermediate Law of Armed Conflict course is designed for officers and senior non-commissioned members. It is taught annually across Canada as well as internationally through the Directorate of Military Training and Cooperation (DMTC). This course is also a mandatory prerequisite for legal officers prior to attending the Legal Officer Qualification course. This 4-day course is conducted on a residential basis and is designed to provide more comprehensive knowledge of international humanitarian law.
How to register for ILOAC
Enrolment is controlled by Canadian Forces Support Training Group (CFSTG) Borden. Members at the Sgt/PO2 rank and above who are interested in attending this course should request nomination in MITE (Military Individual Training and Education) through their chain of command or unit training coordinator. Unit/base/wing training coordinators must enter the requested session number under comments in MITE, or the member will not be loaded.
