Contribution to the Biological and Chemical Defence Review Committee
The Biological and Chemical Defence Review Committee (BCDRC) is an independent group of experts in biological and chemical defence. Each year, the BCDRC inspects and visits relevant government locations (primarily within National Defence). There they receive briefings and observe the Government’s biological and chemical defence program.
The BCDRC:
- fosters public confidence that Canadian biological and chemical defence activities are used for defence
- presents evidence to international bodies to show that Canadian biological and chemical defence activities are serving defensive purposes
- reviews the Government’s biological and chemical defence activities to improve safety
