Government of Canada to hold technical briefing on the Canadian Surface Combatant Project

June 26, 2024 – Ottawa, Ontario – Department of National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces

On June 27, 2024, senior officials from National Defence, the Royal Canadian Navy, and Public Services and Procurement Canada, will hold a virtual technical briefing on the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) Project, in advance of the official beginning of construction the following day, on June 28, 2024 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The Canadian Surface Combatant Project is the largest shipbuilding initiative in Canada since the Second World War. The CSC Project will deliver the Royal Canadian Navy a new fleet of warships based on BAE’s Type 26 frigate design – enabling Canada to deliver combat power at sea for decades to come. Location: The briefing will be virtual. A Zoom link will be provided upon registration.
