New Fixed Wing Search and Rescue Aircraft in Comox

Providing the Royal Canadian Air Force with modern equipment is key to continued success in search and rescue missions. In support of this, the government has purchased 16 new aircraft through the Fixed-Wing Search and Rescue Aircraft Replacement Project.

Minister Sajjan will welcome the first of these aircraft at its new home during an event. The Minister will hold a media availability following the event, and tours of the aircraft will be offered to media.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance for this event will be limited to a maximum of 6 media representatives. Should a higher number of requests be received, we will facilitate sharing video footage and/or still imagery.

Note that this is an outdoor event and that government-issued photo identification is required for access to the event space. All guests attending this event will be required to wear a mask and might have to complete a COVID-19 questionnaire prior to entry.
