Minister Sajjan to attend security and defence meetings in Singapore, Vietnam and Brussels

Defence Minister Harjit S. Sajjan will be in Singapore from June 1-3, 2018, to participate in the annual International Institute of Strategic Studies (IISS) Asia Security Summit, otherwise known as the Shangri-La Dialogue. As the premier defence summit in the Asia-Pacific, the Shangri-La Dialogue brings together ministers, delegates and defence experts from over 50 countries. During the summit, Minister Sajjan will speak on a panel entitled “De-escalating the North Korean Crisis” and attend a series of bilateral meetings.

Following his trip to Singapore, Minister Sajjan will travel to Vietnam from June 4-5, where he will engage with some of Vietnam’s most influential security and defence officials. This will be the first ever visit to Vietnam by a Canadian Minister of Defence. 

From Vietnam, Minister Sajjan will travel to Brussels, from June 7-8, to participate in the NATO Defence Ministers’ Meeting and the Defeat-ISIS Ministerial Meeting.

Minister Sajjan will be available for media opportunities during his trip.
