Gear up for Security Awareness Week 2025!
- Today, we are thrilled to kick off this year's Security Awareness Week!
- This is a great opportunity to take stock of our security practices and explore areas where we can improve.
- Our theme this year is "Stay Sharp, Stay Safe: Security Every Day!", which emphasizes that through our individual effort we can collectively safeguard our people, processes, and institutions.
- Firstly, each of you have a responsibility for safeguarding privileged information to prevent leaks or breaches.
- Just because something may be unclassified, does not mean that it may be shared publicly.
- Secondly, physical security risks continue to evolve as seen with the rise of drones and other technologies
- Your files and computers should be properly secured while unattended, especially near windows, no matter what floor your office is on.
- And lastly, we live in an era of misinformation and disinformation.
- Be weary of sources and fact check what you're reading.
- The spread of false information threatens our security and trust within the Defence Team and the public at large.
- Unity and vigilance are our greatest defence.
- Remember that our security experts, including your unit security supervisors and managers, can always offer guidance and support.
- Stay tuned for more information throughout the week.
- Stay sharp, stay safe!
