The CSTF 2023 revolved around the concept of training and working on real life issues that many of us are facing. During the “Securing the Cloud” workshop, the participants met throughout the week to achieve results like troubleshooting troubleshoot improperly configured applications, among other things, and hosted a Netskope 3rd party Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) presentation.
Thank you to everyone who registered and attended the Cyber Security Training Forum (CSTF) 2023 (Accessible only on the National Defence network) from October 16-20! This year we tackled everything that occurs Beyond the Perimeter.
CSTF 2023 was an overwhelming, sold-out success with 200 in-person attendees at the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security (CCCS) and more than 200 virtual attendees from across Canada!
Throughout the week we heard from Government of Canada executives such as our Defence Chief Information Officer Raj Thuppal, the President of Shared Services Canada Scott Jones, and others like Natasha Hellberg from Bell, Director General Information Management Operation’s Brigadier General Dave Yarker and Melanie Anderson of the CCCS.
The event was strongly supported by other government departments such as the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, Innovation, Science and Economic Development, Employment and Social Development Canada, Shared Services Canada, and the Communications Security Establishment through their level of attendance and cooperation.
Each in-person registrant took part in two Learning Hub courses offered by the CCCS at no cost! Nearly 400 certificates were issued, meeting our central focus on training. Attendees also toured kiosks demonstrating their curriculums and programs such as Coding for Veterans, Women in Defense Security, Pluralsight, and more. On top of it all was the pinnacle feature: the weeklong workshops, which tackled current issues facing the cyber community such as ‘Securing the Cloud’, ‘Data Loss Prevention’, ‘Supply Chain Resilience’, and ‘Pentesting’.
We look forward to seeing everyone again next year for CSTF 2024!
