September 4: Twitter Update from the Deputy Minister Jody Thomas

September 4, 2020 - Defence Stories

Friday Update: It’s Labour Day weekend. (How??) Solidarity with all of the parents and guardians across the #DefenceTeam who have sent—or will soon be sending—their kids back to school in some form or another.

Thousands of Defence Team members shared their back-to-school related questions and worries with us in a survey circulated by ADM (HR-CIV). Thanks to all who contributed. Your frank input helps us make informed decisions.

We see you and appreciate you’re facing many complicated moving pieces.

We’re working to get answers about processes. Some from us. Some from OCHRO. Please keep communicating about your circumstances with your chain of command.

Keep the “Ask Anything” questions coming, especially as we head into the autumn. New updates are posted regularly so it’s worth checking back weekly. https://www.canada.ca/en/department-national-defence/campaigns/covid-19/resuming-work/frequently-asked-questions.html

Tracing helps limit the spread of #COVID. @CDS_Canada_CEMD and I released an internal message to strongly encourage all Defence Team members to download the COVID-alert App: https://www.canada.ca/en/department-national-defence/maple-leaf/defence/2020/09/dm-cds-message-on-covid-alert-app.html

LGen Rouleau and I are looking for even more Defence Team colleagues to join our virtual @RunforWomen team, “Defence Team Minds Matter”. All in support of women’s mental health. Don’t be shy. A great cause. http://run.convio.net/site/TR/Events/General?team_id=7745&pg=team&fr_id=1163

Lots of #DefenceTeam colleagues will work through this long-weekend. Many are away from their families. Grateful for their heavy lifting to keep Canadians safe. Let’s all keep doing our part as well. #WashYourHands #WearAMask #TwoMetresApart
