August 28: Twitter Update from the Deputy Minister Jody Thomas
August 28, 2020 – Defence Stories
Friday Update: We’re all anticipating a more complicated-than-usual autumn because of #COVID19. Top business resumption priorities: keeping the #DefenceTeam healthy and preserving #CAF capacity to act when needed.
Are we more prepared than March? Yes. We need to be. With back to school, cold & flu season, and more Canadians out and about, we face more risks. Don’t take one precaution, take many. A layered approach is best: DND/CAF Risk Mitigation in the COVID-19 Environment.
We all have our own COVID realities, but none of us are alone. Resources, advice and flexible work options are all available to you. Talk to us so we can find solutions together.
Updates expected next week from Treasury Board’s Office of the Chief Human Resources Officer. We’ll share when we know more. Internally, we’re reviewing #DefenceTeam guidance issued to ensure continued relevance.
Positive technology news: ADM (IM) making adjustments so MS Teams will be accessible via the DWAN. Most DefenceTeam members should have functionality updated by late September.
DefenceTeam L1s have really stepped-up during the last few months. @CDS_Canada_CEMD and I appreciate their resilience, even as we push them harder. What a team.
Speaking of teams: As well as the virtual @ArmyRunCanada, VCDS and I are participating in the @TheRoyalMHC virtual @RunForWomen. Funds raised support women’s mental health. Our team is #DefenceTeamMindsMatter. Join us.
Run for Women, brought to you by the LOVE YOU by Shoppers Drug Mart program – Ottawa 2020
Bottom line? Stay engaged. Be kind to yourself. And #WashYourHands.
