Hi, I’m Greg Lick and I’m your Ombudsman. So, let’s go with the 60 seconds!
So, what does an ombudsman do?
Well, I make sure you get fair treatment and make sure that your careers and lives are better.
What may people be surprised to learn about you?
Well, I spend a lot of time actually doing archery.
What is the most challenging and rewarding part of your job?
The most challenging and rewarding one—they both go together, and that is about making sure that every day we can help someone.
How does the office of the ombudsman help improve culture at Defence?
Well, first of all we make sure we listen to the issues that you’re facing and we make sure that leadership, politicians, the government is aware of them and acts on solutions.
What is your favourite memory from your 17 years as a Naval Reservist?
Well really, my favourite memory was the first time I got on ship and we had to splice the main brace
If you could teleport anywhere, where would you go?
I would go back to my mother’s hometown of Sydney, Australia.
