Deputy Prime Minister to attend meetings of G7 and G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors in India

Next week, from July 16 to 18, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the Honourable Chrystia Freeland, will attend meetings of the G7 and G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors in Gandhinagar, India.

At these meetings, the Deputy Prime Minister will work with Canada’s allies and partners to enhance cooperation on global economic challenges, including steady growth and stable inflation, securing essential supply chains, building the clean economy, and ensuring international tax fairness. 

In the face of Putin’s illegal full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Deputy Prime Minister will continue working with Canada’s allies to support Ukraine and to hold Russia accountable for its crimes.

An itinerary of events will be released in advance of the meeting.
