Purpose and objectives of transfer payment program | The objective of the NICP is that contributions are used, where appropriate, to assist CSC address eligible infrastructure priorities in a cost-effective manner and which assist CSC achieve its strategic objective that "the custody, correctional interventions, and supervision of offenders in communities and institutions, contribute to public safety." |
Expected results | Enabling the agency to enter into contribution agreements with provinces, territories, municipalities, and non-profit organizations, towards construction done by those bodies, where the agency cannot otherwise do so in a reasonable and cost-effective manner or through existing mechanisms. |
