2018 Creative Industries Trade Mission to China

Frankfurt 2020 Book Fair

The annual Frankfurt Book Fair is the most important trade show in the world for the publishing sector:

  • 7,100 exhibitors from more than 100 countries
  • 275,000 visitors
  • More than 4,000 events
  • Approximately 10,000 accredited journalists in attendance

Each year, the event showcases a Guest of Honour to highlight its rich literacy, cultural and linguistic heritage to global industry representatives.

Canada, the Guest of Honour in 2020

Canada was chosen to be the Guest of Honour in 2020 and, with the help of a vast network of partners, the planning for our participation is already underway.

The Frankfurt 2020 Book Fair is an opportunity for all creative industries to establish an exchange network between countries.

Over the year, the Guest of Honour country is required to offer a rich cultural program for the German public. This is an opportunity to promote our creators’ talent and to build cultural and business ties with the largest economy in Europe, as well other German-speaking countries.

Canada brings to the world stage a strong commitment to its bilingual tradition and embraces the diverse cultures that contribute to its society.
