Backgrounder: Halifax will benefit from investments to help bring people back to public spaces safely

Backgrounder

The Government of Canada invests $100,000 in three community shared spaces to stimulate local economies, create jobs, and improve the quality of life of Canadians.

Halifax Regional Municipality This project replaces the playground at Hartlen Park, adding two playground structures with spring-riding toys, swings, benches and waste receptacles. The infrastructure will create a safe place for children to gather and play. $40,000
Halifax Regional Municipality This project replaces and expands the playground at Africville Park. Equipment will include two playground structures for different age groups, a swing set with an accessible seat, and benches. The upgrades will provide new challenges and opportunities for outdoor play. $30,000
Halifax Regional Municipality This project replaces the rubber surrounding the Wave Sculpture in downtown Halifax, creating a safe recreational space for residents and visitors at the iconic waterfront landmark. $30,000
