Data Analytics Training – A PME Opportunity

“WithYouWithMe” is an organization that specializes in training and education in the technology sector. In order to support the modernization of the Canadian Army and empower our members to work within more digitized environments, they are offering cost-free, entirely distance learning (DL) training that equips serving members, veterans, and their families with the skills to succeed in career fields such as Data Analytics, IT and Digital Project Management, Software Developer, and more.
WithYouWithMe is currently offering Data Analytics Training to Canadian Army personnel, with the options of self-paced and 3-week (full-time) instructor-led programs. In general, the purpose of the Data Analytics program is to teach Data Analyst skills in order to solve problems using data and to present data using meaningful visualisations on Excel and Power BI. During the program, students are expected to transform raw data into insights that enable decision-making or increase understanding. By the end of the program, students are expected to be able to define questions to ask data, transform data and prepare it for analysis, analyse the data in order to generate insights or findings, and communicate these insights by presenting key findings using visualisations. Students will build transferable skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, data literacy, and computer literacy.
The three (3) courses included in the program are:
- Data Foundations – provides students with a foundational knowledge of dealing with data;
- Data Analysis with Excel – provides students with the core skills required to transform unprocessed data into insights that can enable decision-making; and
- Data Visualisation with Power BI – empowers students with the core skills required to visualise data into insights that can enable decision-making.
Students will receive WithYouWithMe course certificates for the aforementioned courses.
The Data Analytics Training is a well-designed, informative program that imparts practical skills related to software literacy, transforming and analyzing data using Excel and Power BI, and communicating/presenting relevant findings and insights using dashboards and visualisations. The skills learned on this program will be beneficial to personnel who work with large datasets and who need to analyze such datasets in order to generate/communicate insights and support/inform decisions at the unit and beyond (e.g., Standards Staff, Operations Staff, and Support Staff).
