Profile of the Canadian Army Podcast host
Captain Adam Orton hails from Casselman, Ontario. He began his military career as a private with 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, where he served for five years. That included a tour in Afghanistan, support to Op PODIUM (Canadian Forces Support to The Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic And Paralympic Games) and achieving the rank of master corporal.
He subsequently joined the Reserves with the Governor General’s Foot Guards (GGFG) in Ottawa where he progressed through the non-commissioned member ranks to the level of sergeant, holding various posts. He then became a commissioned officer.
Capt Orton currently serves as the full-time Operations Officer for the Canadian Army Headquarters as well as the Regimental Quartermaster of the GGFG after hours.
His interests include 3D printing, back country camping and arguing about military tactics in pubs with his friends.
