After receiving his wings in 2000, LCol Bandet was posted to 4 Wing, Cold Lake, Alberta Fighter Lead-in training at 419 Tactical Fighter Squadron and 410 Tactical Fighter Training Squadron. In 2003, he was posted to 433 Tactical Fighter Squadron at 3 Wing Bagotville, Quebec. During this time, he flew the CF-18 Hornet and participated in numerous NORAD missions and NATO exercises throughout North America and Europe. In the summer of 2006, LCol Bandet was back posted to Cold Lake where he served as a Squadron Standards Officer with 419 Squadron.
In 2010, LCol Bandet was selected as Snowbird 6, outer right wing position, with the Canadian Forces Snowbirds. He was posted to 431 Air Demonstration Squadron in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and performed three full seasons from 2011 until 2013.
In 2013 LCol Bandet was promoted to Major and was posted to 409 Tactical Fighter Squadron at 4 Wing Cold Lake where he held the positions of Training Officer, Operations Officer and Deputy Commanding Officer. In the summer of 2015, Maj Bandet deployed to the Middle East during Operation IMPACT in support of the Middle East Stabilization Force.
In July 2017, LCol Bandet returned to 431 Air Demonstration Squadron to lead the Team as Snowbird 1. Over the course of his career he has accumulated over 4,000 flying hours in different types of civilian and military aircraft, of which 3,700 have been in high performance military jet aircraft.
