DYK? The FORCE Rewards Program has Expanded

As of 1 January, 2020, the FORCE Reward Program has been expanded to include Reserve Class A, B, and C. This program is part of the Balance Strategy, the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)’s physical performance strategy, and one of many ongoing efforts to vigorously strengthen both operational and health-related fitness within the CAF.

In a leadership-driven organization such as the CAF, it is important to recognize those who lead by example and continue to mobilize their peers and subordinates to do the same.

“The importance of the physical fitness of our Reserve Force aviators can never be understated, especially as we strive to maintain both our physical and mental health during these trying times,” says Colonel Shawn Marley, Director Air Reserve. “As we consider the transition from the current COVID posture to the next, staying fit to serve is more important than ever.”

The FORCE Rewards program is a rewards-based initiative that allows military members to earn rewards and be recognized for achieving high levels of health-related fitness, and operational fitness, when annually tested for their FORCE evaluation. All CAF personnel are now entitled to receive a reward upon achieving the silver, gold, or platinum incentive level.

The FORCE evaluation remains the CAF’s common standard of operational fitness. The Formefit system streamlines data entry within Guardian and ensures reward eligibility. Manual entry continues to be an option for data entry into guardian for Reserve personnel only. While FORCE evaluations have been temporarily suspended, the need to stay fit remains.
