Canadian Special Operations Forces Command

The Canadian Special Operations Forces Command (CANSOFCOM) is a part of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces. It is a high-readiness organization, able to deploy agile, special operations forces on very short notice on behalf of the Government of Canada in order to protect Canadians from threats at home and abroad.

VITAL ARCHER 2026, held from March 23 to April 15, is an annual exercise involving eleven federal agencies, the United States military, Canadian Special Operations Forces Command, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Ontario Provincial Police, and Toronto Police Services, to practice coordinated crisis response across all levels of government in a no-fail scenario.
