Backgrounder : Twenty-four new infrastructure projects across Manitoba
Backgrounder
Total investment of more than $37.3 million
The governments of Canada and Manitoba have approved a new list of projects under the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund to address key infrastructure priorities. The focus of this investment will be to repair and upgrade existing facilities and assets for middle class Canadians and their families.
The Government of Canada is making up to $95,250,782 available to Manitoba municipalities through the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund, and will fund up to 50 per cent of eligible project costs. The Government of Manitoba and municipalities will fund the balance.
In addition to the 23 water and wastewater projects announced on July 25, 2016, the following 24 projects are approved for federal funding of up to $18,680,101. The Province of Manitoba is investing $9,340,051. The recipient municipalities are contributing approximately $9,340,050 and are responsible for any remaining costs.
