Harper Government announces new investment that will create 350 jobs
July 31, 2015 – Markham, Ontario – Industry Canada
Canada's automotive supply chain is essential to the success of automotive manufacturers in Ontario, and a strong supply chain encourages more international investment by large automotive firms.
To support the growth of Ontario's automotive supply chain, Paul Calandra, Member of Parliament for Oak Ridges–Markham, today announced a contribution of $850,000 to Novo Plastics through the Automotive Supplier Innovation Program (ASIP). This investment will create 350 high-quality jobs and leverage a $1.7-million private sector investment by Novo Plastics.
With this investment, Novo Plastics will create a plastic muffler, which will be lighter than traditional mufflers. This advancement will enable lighter vehicle designs and improved fuel efficiency.
The Harper Government is supporting automotive suppliers in developing groundbreaking, advanced products. This support is essential to helping small and medium-sized businesses bring new technologies to the marketplace for Canadian automotive consumers.
