47 recipients of the Quebec Fisheries Fund receive over $4.5 million in contributions from the Government of Canada

Rivière-au-Renard, Quebec - The Government of Canada is announcing $4,531,375 in funding for 47 projects in Quebec that will help improve the efficiency, quality and sustainability of Quebec’s fish and seafood sector.
The five-year Quebec Fisheries Fund (QFF) supports projects in the areas of innovation, science partnerships, commercial fisheries, aquaculture and processing. These projects increase the value of high quality fish and seafood products from sustainable sources, and help position Quebec’s fish and seafood sector for continued long term growth.
The combined contributions of the federal and provincial governments in the QFF will total $42.8 million in investments, which will create opportunities and increase the market value of high quality fish and seafood products from sustainable practices in Quebec.

In the Gaspé – Lower St. Lawrence region, the Government of Canada's contribution, totaling more than $1.5 million, supports 26 projects.

In the Magdalen Islands, nearly $1.5 million is allocated to five projects.

As for the North Shore, the contribution amounts to nearly $1 million and supports 13 projects.

Finally, an investment of more than $300,000 is allocated to three projects outside the Maritimes, in Lingwick, Quebec City and Montreal.
