La Musique du Royal 22e Régiment
Since its formation in 1922, La Musique du Royal 22e Régiment has enjoyed world-class reknown. Its reputation is due entirely to the musicians who have been part of the ensemble since its formation. It now consists of 38 members, all of whom have a true passion and devotion for music. Many are graduates of Canadian and foreign universities and conservatories. La Musique du Royal 22e Régiment is the only professional military band of the Province of Quebec.
Under the command of the 2nd Canadian Division, the band joined the ranks of the 2nd Canadian Division Support Group in 2006. It is through their support and cooperation that La Musique du Royal 22e Régiment can actively participate in the social and community life of the Québec and the rest of Canada.

In 1922, the old Royal Canadian Artillery Band was dismantled and La Musique du Royal 22e Régiment was founded. In addition to military marches, the band's repertoire includes traditional folk tunes, classical musical adaptations, show tunes, selections from various musical comedies, jazz arrangements and pop tunes. Being the only French Canadian regular force band, La Musique du Royal 22e Régiment considers it an honour to highlight the French Heritage of Quebec and elsewhere.
From 1923 to this day, La Musique du Royal 22e Régiment has participated in many official ceremonies in Canada as well as abroad. In addition to the numerous official appointments, La Musique du Royal 22e Régiment performs in many concerts.
Vive la canadienne is the official regimental march of the Royal 22e Régiment and was adapted from a traditional folksong by Captain Edwin Bélanger, one of the most famous Directors of Music of La Musique du Royal 22e Régiment.
