Impact Assessment Roster established

January 24, 2020 — The Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (the Agency) has established the Impact Assessment Roster under the Impact Assessment Act (IAA). The Roster identifies 22 individuals who are eligible for appointment by the Minister as members or chairpersons for future project-specific Impact Assessments by independent Review Panels.

The 22 individuals were formerly members of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012 Review Panel Roster and meet the qualifications outlined in the IAA. The intent of the Impact Assessment Roster is to facilitate the selection of members or chairpersons for appointment to Review Panels under the new Act.

The members of the Roster were selected based on their knowledge or experience relevant to impact assessment and public consultation processes, their expertise relating to environmental assessment processes, and their qualifications to examine complex environmental, social, health and economic issues.

Additional roster candidates may be identified by the Agency and approved by the Minister as needed.
